How Christmas season going for you?
For mommies like me I’m pretty sure pressured nanaman tayo .
I know this season as isa sa mga pinakabusy season for all . Yun kids busy sa
parties , yung kalsada busy sa traffic even the palaboys sa city busy
manglimos. Dumadami talaga sila dito to CDO if Ber months , parang excursion to
the city ata yun ng mga Badjao bros and sis natin pag bermonths .
Going back to moms, the reality of most families kasi it’s
the moms talaga natatambakan ng workload for Christmas. One of the tasks is
Christmas shopping for gifts.
Last year I made a last minute Christmas Gift shopping sa
Robinson and OMG. My credit card was so wasak afterwards, asides that ka stress
yung linya sa cashier parang may pabigas si mayor. Wrong move for me and I’ve
learned my lesson.
I am proud to say, asides my office and village Party
wherein hindi pa kami nagkapagdraw ng names , I’m done with my gift shopping.
That for me such a domestic achievement na at the first week of December pa
lang done na ako.
Here are my diskarte
for this year :
1.
Do it earlier
Last year I went gift shopping
around mid December na . OMG kastress ang traffic and lines at the cashier.
Tapos parang naging amazing race yung pag pick ng gifts. Kaya this year I did
it earlier. Last week of November to 1st week of December.
2.
Set a Budget
Have a cap per group. Hahaha may
grouping talaga . I go like this :
Group
|
Max
Budget
|
Pax
|
Kids
|
100
|
14
|
Officemates
|
100
|
13
|
Relatives
|
80
|
7
|
Neighbours
|
50
|
10
|
PS : Barat lola mo it’s at 100 max.
Oh well it’s the thought that counts diba? And mind you mapili ako . I make sure I got bang for buck for my
choices. I was also able to buy gifts actually lower than budget. As for Immediate family - husband, baby ,
moms and dad , I splurged a little , hindi ko na nilagay sa list. Yung friends
naman .... hahaha sorry friends my gift for you this year is “Just Love” . Anyways
most of my friends are far away naman so hindi ako masisingil. :D . Or else
i’ll invite them to eat my house nalang.
3.
Choose
from the Bargain Bin
I shopped in budget and discount
stores this year namely Gaisano , Kaking and Shopwise . Amazingly I saw many
items at the bargain bin nila na swak or even lower than the budget ko. At OK
pa
4.
Think your gifts through
Your gift should be useful and age
appropriate. Last year yung pinamigay ko
sa kids wallet na may laman money. Yun pinangbili ng kids ng Candies and tossed
out the wallet . Wala pa kasi sila sa age na nakakaappreciate sila ng money. This
year I went for clothing and ,undies ,towels and books for those kiddos.
5.
Go online
It saves you the hassle of going thru
traffic and long lines. I got my little tot gifts from Shopee ph. Educational toys and trinkets , nageffort
talaga aketch sa “I can teach my child” churva. Hubby also got him those Led
light Shoes at Shopee din .Galing padaw yun ng China ,fingers crossed sana OK
yung item. I am going to feature Shopee
in a separate post by the way . So far my purchases are good value for money.
6.
Take Advantage of Free Gift Wrapping
Lots of malls and bigger stores now
offer free gift wrapping for as low as 100 peso worth of purchase. So go ahead
walang limit sa laki ng item , upon check-out divide mo na yung items for the
minimum kasi isang item lang pwede ewrap per receipt. Kasi I don’t want hubby to know what my gift
was I had them wrapped at the mall. That way hindi na ako mastress sa paghide
nung gift .Ayon nakadisplay na siya under our tree .
7.
Go for Gift Cards/Coupons
SM, Robinsons , Gaisano, National Bookstore
and lots of other establishments offers gift cards . Some may frown on this
idea since it may seem like you were just so tired to think of a gift but hey
happy is he who receives the gift card. He/she will have the option to buy
something he/she really likes. Win win ika nga.
I hope my own diskarte above helps you this season para less
stress tayo.Personally I want this season one of happiness not of stress as
experience ko last year. I will be posting my Noche Buena Plan soon too , hope
you read on.
XOXO
